Canon has launched the super-zoom PowerShot SX110 IS, which replaces the SX100 IS. With an increased resolution and a more compact build than its predecessor, the 9MP SX110 IS offers a 3.0 LCD, 10x optical zoom, Image Stabilization, Face Detection, Motion Detection and a new Easy Mode

The Canon Powershot SX110 features a 10x zoom lens for bringing you in much closer as well as having Face Detection and anti-blur technologies for clearer shots. With "Easy Mode" the camera is ready to pick up and shoot in any situation.

10x optical zoom with optical IS Fitted with optical Image Stabilizer technology to counteract the effect of camera shake and thus ensure crisp, blur-free results throughout the zoom range - a 10x optical zoom brings even distant subjects into view.

9.0 Megapixels plus DIGIC III with iSAPS Canons DIGIC III processor delivers lightning-fast response times, superior colour reproduction, and outstanding noise reduction. iSAPS technology uses shooting scene data to optimise camera settings even before a shot is taken.

Face Detection and Auto Red-Eye Correction Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB detects up to nine faces and adjusts focus, exposure, flash settings and white balance - producing optimal results with natural-looking skin tones. Face Select & Track lets you choose and track your primary subject, so you never lose a special face in the crowd. Red Eye Correction is performed either via automatic correction straight after shooting, or with manual or automatic correction in playback.

Stop Blurred photos Activated in High ISO Auto, Motion Detection Technology uses Face Detection Technology, the optical Image Stabilizer and scene information - on both scene brightness and changes between individual frames - to identify subject motion and camera-shake. ISO is also optimised for minimum blur and maximum image quality. ISO can be manually set as high as 1600.

Versatile Movie Modes Shoot smooth, 30fps VGA movie clips at the touch of a button. A special Long Play option uses around half the normal memory card space. Footage can easily be monitored on the clear 3.0" LCD display.
